Which bread is the healthiest?
Plain white bread to multi-grain bread. But which bread is actually the most healthy. Which actually contains the whole grains ? The wide variety is able to be categorized into 4 types: Rye,Wheat,Rye-Mix and Wheat Mix.
Wheat bread:
Whitebread, commercial whitebread (for toast), wheat coarse milled, and wheat whole-grain breads belong to this category. A wheat bread must contain at least 90% wheat. The other 10% consist of rye flour, yeast, and other baking ingredients. So that the bread will remain porous and soft, yeast is added as a baking aid.
Rye bread:
In rye bread must contain 90% rye, 10% is wheat. Rye bread must be produced with natural sourdough so that the body can digest the rye. Only rye breads that are produced with natural sourdough instead of a pre-manufactured baking mix, is easy to digest and will not create digestive problems such as a feeling of being overly full or gas.
Wheat mix bread:
The wheat content in a wheat mix bread must be between 50% and 89%. The other 11% to 50% are rye wheat and other baking ingredients.
Rye mix bread:
The rye contained in rye mix breads must lie between 50% and 89%, the rest of the flour to be between 11% and 50% wheat flour coarse rye mix and wholegrain rye mix. Rye mix breads must also be produced with natural sourdough so that they are easy to digest. Here the same rule of thumb is followed: only rye breads that are produced with natural sourdough are easy to digest and on your system. |
